Novi Road Improvements

Pavements age with time and gradually deteriorate due to environmental effects and traffic loadings. Resources for maintaining and repairing roads are efficiently managed so that the money is spent in the right place at the right time by knowing the condition of the pavement network. The City of Novi has recognized the benefits of performing regular pavement condition surveys to evaluate the existing pavement conditions and to allocate maintenance and construction funds. Current City of Novi road improvement projects include:
Meadowbrook Road between Nine and Ten Mile Roads - This project involves the rehabilitation, reconstruction and/or replacement of existing concrete road panels and joints. Meadowbrook Road from Nine Mile to Ten Mile is currently closed to south-bound traffic. ONLY NORTH-BOUND TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT. Construction is anticipated to be complete and open to full two-way traffic by September 13.
2013 Neighborhood Road Program - This project consists of asphalt and concrete road reconstruction and rehabilitation at various locations throughout the City. In addition, restoration, sidewalk, ADA ramps, and drainage structure improvements are included with this project. Many neighborhood roads have been completed and some are awaiting restoration. The Michigan Department of Transportation, Wayne County and the Road Commission of Oakland County have current projects in and around Novi including Eight Mile Road, Haggerty Road and, soon to be started, westbound I-96 just east of Novi Road to Livingston County (Kent Lake Road).
