“We’ll be looking at anything that could contaminate your drinking water supply,” he said. The testing is the result of a new mandate from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality requiring that all municipalities establish a cross connection control program for single-family properties.
How does it work? Starting in March, an information packet will be sent to all residents that will serve as an introduction to the cross control connection program and the impact on residential property owners.
The city created a web page (cityofnovi.org/City-Services/ Public-Services/Cross- Connection- Control.aspx) to provide property owners with a better understanding of how the program works.
These requirements are the responsibility of each Co-owner. This is preliminary information. Additional details will be provided.
