Board Bits - October
Posted on Oct 6th, 2016

Rust colored concrete: The Board has recognized that the very unsightly rust colored concrete throughout the community must be attended to and has identified a rust remover which will do an excellent job of removing the rust color. Note that each of the wells (total of 5) in the community contains a rust preventer material introduced into the water as it is being dispersed. This system is clearly not doing an adequate job. Before we can remove the existing rust we need to determine the root cause of the problem this rust preventer system is exhibiting. We are meeting with the well contractor to better understand how we can solve this problem. We will be running a test to confirm the efficacy of our solution. We will not be able to remove the existing rust until we have an acceptable solution. Also, we did not budget for this in the current calendar year (estimated cost is $8,000). 2017 is the target date to remove the rust from our concrete. We will keep you apprised of our progress via Board Bits.
